How to Close Apps on iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max

If you are upgrading to the iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro from an iPhone 8, iPhone 7, or lower, you are going to take a bit of time to get used to the new gesture system. Coupled with the new navigation system, Apple has also changed the way how one closes apps on the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro from the app switcher.

Before I tell you how to close apps on your new iPhone though, I will try and answer the more important question — Should you close apps by swiping them away from the app switcher? In many ways, by doing so, you are force closing or killing an app forcefully.
Should You Close Apps on Your iPhone?

Many Apple executives have said multiple times that closing apps on an iPhone has no impact performance or battery life in any way. In fact, closing frequently apps will actually have a negative impact on performance and battery life since the device will have to keep launching it again and again. However, all this has not really stopped and likely will not stop iPhone users from closing apps from the app switcher.

While I will also not recommend users to close frequently used apps, I will suggest them to at least remove apps that they don’t use frequently from the app switcher every once in a while. This might not bring about any performance or battery life improvements, but it will at least prevent the app switcher list from turning into a mess.

Since you are essentially killing or force closing an app by swiping it away from the app switcher, you can use it when an app has frozen or acting weirdly.
How to Close Apps on iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro in iOS 13
Step 1: Swipe Up and Hold

Bring up the App Switcher on your iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro by swiping up from the bottom of the display, holding your finger on the screen for a split second and then removing it.Also Read:Cool Games for Teenage Girls

This gesture is similar to going back to the home which also involves swiping up from the bottom of the display. However, to bring up the App Switcher, you need to keep your finger on the display for a split second after finishing the swipe up.

Step 2: Swipe Up, Again!

Now close any app by simply swiping up on its card.

The App Switcher also supports multi-touch so you can use up to three fingers at once to three apps at once.

As I have mentioned above, you should not close all apps on your iPhone all the time. Instead, only force close or kill apps that you don’t use frequently as otherwise, they will end up cluttering the app switcher. Also Read:iPhone games of 2019

iOS 13.2 Beta Includes Icon Depicting New AirPods Design

Apple has been rumored to be working on a third generation of AirPods with active noise control (ANC), also known as noise cancellation, or active noise reduction (ANR). Noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested the updated AirPods could launch late this year or early next year with an "all-new design."

Today's iOS 13.2 beta release includes an icon showing redesigned AirPods that appear to have rubber ear tips that would likely be needed as part of a noise cancelation feature.

The file name includes reference to a B298 code name, and the image is contained in the Accessibility Settings folder. This could suggest these new AirPods will contain a new accessibility feature such as being able to use them as hearing aids, or it could be related to existing Live Listen capabilities.

There's no specific word on when the new AirPods could debut, but Apple has a number of rumored pending announcements that could point toward an October media event.

Update 11:55 AM: As noted by a MacRumors reader, a claimed photo leak last month from 52 Audio bears a strong resemblance to the image found in iOS 13.2, suggesting the leak may be accurate.

iPadOS: How to Multitask on Your iPad — The Complete Guide

Every couple of years, the iPad gains new software capabilities that inch it ever so closer towards the Mac when it comes to productivity. iPadOS is a big leap in this direction. There’s a lot more you can do when it comes to multitasking, like opening multiple windows of the same app. But what if you’re new to the iPad life? It can seem overwhelming at first. Take it slow and learn all about the joys of multitasking in our guide below.
Multitasking on the iPad: Everything You Need to Know

In this guide, we’re covering all the multitasking related features. Some of the features have been on the iPad since a couple of years but quite a bit has been added in iPadOS update. To get the best out of this guide, we recommend you update to iPadOS before going forward.
It All Starts With The Dock

All of iPad’s multitasking actions start with the Dock so you should get familiar with it, and customize it to make your multitasking easier. The Dock is the row of apps at the bottom of the Home screen. And you can bring it up quickly on any screen.

Just swipe up from the bottom of the screen a bit and let go of your finger (don’t simply flick your finger up, this will take you to the Home screen).

Before we begin, go back to the Home screen and add your most-used apps to the Dock. Depending on your iPad, you can add up to 16 apps here. You can also add folders here if you want. The Dock also makes your life easier by showing three recommendations and last used apps at the right edge of the Dock.
Open an App in Slide Over

Slide Over is Apple’s feature for a floating window on top of your iPad. It’s the simplest way to have two apps running on the screen, one on top of another. An app in Slide Over opens in an iPhone style narrow window. You can move it around to the left or right edge.

To open an app in Slide over, first, bring up the Dock, tap and hold on an app icon and drag it to the middle of the screen till you see the app icon expand into a rectangular box. Let go of your finger the app will open in a floating panel.

You can grab the handle at the top and flick it out of the right edge of the screen to hide the panel. If you swipe in from the right edge, the panel will come back.
Open Two Apps Side-By-Side in Split View

If you have an 11-inch or 12.9-inch iPad Pro, you should really take advantage of the screen space and run two apps side-by-side using the Split View feature.

Again, this feature starts with the iPad. When you have one app open on the screen, swipe up to bring up the Dock and then drag an app icon.

This time, drag the icon all the way to the right edge of the screen until you see a black border on the right edge, with a capsule of the app you just picked. Let go of your finger and the app will be now docked to the right side of the screen.

You’ll see a separator in the middle of the two apps. Just grab the handle and move it around to adjust the ratio of the app’s screen space. You can have a 50/50 split or a 70/30 split.

To get rid of the app that you just added to Split View, simply grab the handle in the middle of the screen and push it out to the edge of the screen.
Use The App Switcher

You can use the App Switcher to switch between all open apps and to quit any app that’s stuck. To access the App Switcher, swipe up from the bottom of the iPad’s display and keep your finger on the screen till you get to the middle of the screen. Then let go,
Switch Between Apps Using Gestures

There are a lot of gestures for switching between apps. The gestures introduced in iOS 12 are simpler to use. As you already know, to go Home, you just swipe up from the Home bar.

But you can also swipe left/right on the Home bar to switch between apps. If Your iPad has a physical button you can do the same action, but with an inverted “u” gesture.

You can switch between apps using a four-finger swipe as well.
Open Multiple Apps in Slide Over

In iPadOS 13 you can also open multiple apps in the same Slide Over panel. When one app is already open in Slide Over, reveal the Dock, grab an app icon and drop it on top of the Slide Over panel.

The new app will be replaced by the old one in Slide Over. You’ll see a little Home bar at the bottom of the panel. You can simply swipe up on it to reveal all apps in Slide Over.

To switch between apps in Slide Over, just swipe left/right on the Home bar in the Slide Over panel.
Open Multiple Windows of The Same App

This is another new feature in iPadOS 13. You can now create multiple windows of the same app. It can either be in Split View or a whole different window. You can create a blank new window for the app, or you can create a new window for a specific part of an app (like a note, mail or webpage).

When you’re using an app and you want to add a new blank window in Split View, bring up the Dock, drag the app icon of the same app to the right edge of the screen and let go. Another instance of the app is now working.

you can also drag an element from one window to create another window. For example, tap an hold on a link from Safari then drag it out to the right edge of the screen and let go.

You can manage all windows from an app using App Expose. Bring up the Dock and tap on the app icon for the app you have open. It will show you all the windows of the app that are open. You can tap on a window to switch to it. Or swipe up to close that particular window.

You’ll also see a little Plus icon in the top-right corner. Tap on it and a new blank window for the app will open in full-screen view in another space.
How to Drag and Drop Between Apps

What is the use of two apps running side-by-side if you can’t interact with them.

Just tap and hold on any text or image from one app, then drag it out and let go of it when you reach the other window (where you want to drop the data).

You can transfer files, images, text, links and a lot more using this method.
Customize Multitasking Features

Not all multitasking features are created equal. In fact, some of the methods described above might seem downright confusing to some. The beauty of this system is that if you don’t need to worry about any of this. You can keep using the iPad the old way, with one app-at-a-time mode.

But if you think that some of these gestures are getting in the way of your simple iPad life, you can disable them.

Go to Settings > General > Multitasking & Dock.

If you want to disable all the Split View and Slide Over feature, disable to toggle next to Allow Multiple Apps.

You can disable Gestures and suggested apps in the Dock from here as well. Also Read:deepnude alternatives

Unc0ver Jailbreak 3.0.1 for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2 Released with Important Stability Fix

Following the release of the first stable version of Unc0ver 3.0.0 for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2, the @pwn20wnd team has released Unc0ver 3.0.1 with an important stability fix along with other minor improvements.

Among other things, the latest release of the Unc0ver jailbreak tool also adds support for the restart button on iOS 12.1.3 – iOS 12.2. Below is the full change-log of the update:

– Iterate the proc list with proper data locks in Unrestrict to fix a possible race condition in the kernel (Important stability fix)

– Fix a typo in the app

– Fix a bug in logging

– Add iOS 12.1.3 – 12.2 support for the restart button

If you are already running the last stable release of Unc0ver 3.0.0 on your iPhone or iPad, you should upgrade to the latest release for the stability improvements that it offers. Sadly, this release still lacks support for A12-A12X Bionic devices like the iPhone XS and iPhone XR.

While the Unc0ver team has finished their part of the work to jailbreak A12-A12X Bionic devices, they are still waiting for Cydia Substrate to be compatible with the devices. Given Saurik’s recent outburst on the jailbreaking community, I am doubtful that we are going to see Cydia Substrate gain A12-A12X Bionic support anytime soon.

5 Ways to Fix iPhone Stuck on Verifying Update When Updating to iOS 12 2019
"Hello, I need help. Actually, I started installing the iOS 12 in the morning and my iPhone stuck on verifying update screen for 5 hours. What kind of problem is this? Will the new update installation taking some time or not? I want some solution for this. Please help!"

Many people prefer performing update process wirelessly i.e. without iTunes and they are likely to get verifying update screen for long time. However, the issue restricts smooth updating and is annoying but it can be repaired by some fixes. Here is what you can try when your iPhone stuck on Verifying Update screen.
5 Ways to Fix iPhone Stuck on Verifying Update When Updating to iOS 12

1. Hard Reset Your iPhone

2. Press Sleep/Wake Button

3. Restore iPhone with an Old Backup

4. Fix the Problem without Data Loss

5. Hardware Issue
1. Hard Reset Your iPhone

Well, your iPhone is stuck on Verifying Update and you can't even do anything as everything is stucked, try to perform a hard reset then as that may help restore the proper functioning of your device.

If you have:

iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, you are required to press and hold the volume down and power button simultaneously.

iPhone 6 or earlier, hold down Home button and power button simultaneously.

Hold the buttons for around 10 seconds until the Apple logo come up on the screen. Let go the buttons and check if your issue resolves. Most probably, it should get resolved as rebooting an iPhone can resolve up to 70% of the issues.

2. Press Sleep/Wake Button

If the hard reset doesn't make any change and you face that iPhone stuck on Verifying Update issue again, try this Sleep/Wake button trick. What you are required to do is just simply hit the Sleep/Wake button of your device for a few number times.

Note: Make sure, between each press you wait for a couple of seconds.

Getting a bit in detail, pressing the Sleep/Wake button again and again forces your iOS device to lock the screen then wake it up, then again lock it up and wake it up again. Repeating this over and over again for about 5-10 times in a row most probably resolves the issue of stucked verifying update.

If the trick works, you'll see an Apple logo and progress bar on the screen. Now let the device do its work to install the software update. Be patient, it may take some time install the update.
3. Restore iPhone with an Old Backup

If the above solutions didn't prove helpful then try restoring your iOS device with an older backup via iTunes. It is another quick fix you can try to get your issue resolved. Any faulty changes made to the device's settings that are causing the issue will be rolled back and your device should behave as normal.

Launch iTunes application on your Mac or Windows computer.

With the help of a lightning cord, connect your iOS device to the computer. If you are asked to enter your device's password or Trust the computer, allow it and follow the further steps.

As soon as your device gets connected, it will appear on iTunes. Tap on it when you see it.

Push "Restore Backup" button and select the most relevant one by monitoring the date and size of the earlier backups.

Lastly hit Restore and let the process complete.

4. Fix the Problem without Data Loss (iOS 12 Supported)

How to Fix The iPhone cannot be restored.

1. Use Original USB Cable

If you encounter the problem 'The iPhone cannot be restored. The device cannot be found', it is highly recommended to use the original Apple lightening cable which was supplied with your device than any other USB cable. Just in case, if you are using the original one only and are still not able to connect your iPhone with the PC, you must ensure that the USB cable is actually working out or not. Try plugging in another iPhone with the same cable. If the cable is faulty, you need to buy out an original Apple lightning cable to proceed.

2. Update iTunes to the Latest Version

Generally the issue of restoring, including the error message 'The iPhone cannot be restored. The device cannot be found', arises when the iTunes application is not updated to its latest version. To get this done, here's the step by step tutorial.

For Mac: Go to the App Store. Towards the top of the App Store window, select the 'Updates' option. You will be able to see if there is any iTunes update available or not.

3. Force Restart Your iPhone and Try Another Computer

If you are trying to restore your iPhone but the iTunes error states 'The iPhone cannot be restored. The device cannot be found'. You can still start afresh by forcing a restart over your device and then try again with restoring your phone.

For iPhone 6 or below:

If you have iPhone 6 or any lesser version, you can optimally force the restart in your phone by pressing the "Home" and "Sleep/Wake' buttons together till the apple logo does not surface on your screen.

iPhone 7 Series:

Thumb down the "Sleep/Wake" and "Volume Down" button altogether to obtain the Apple logo on the screen. If you successfully get that, you may free your fingers from the tabs and your iPhone would go on a restart mode.

iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X:

Push and release the "Volume Up" button. Repeat the same with the "Volume Down" button. Then, hold the 'Power' button down until the apple logo does not appear on the screen.

Connect your phone with different PC

You can even connect your phone from a different PC and check if you still get the error message 'The iPhone cannot be restored. The device cannot be found' on that PC.
